An Ignorant Email about Islam and Muslims

A friend forwarded me the following email. It seems similar emails have been sent to our Malaysian or Indonesian brothers and sisters by people who are ignorant or have misunderstanding and prejudice against Islam.

In my opinion the content seems not reliable at all, in fact it is obvious lie. I don't believe there is any Imam (except an idiotic one who does not deserve to be an Imam in the first place) who says "All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven".

This accusation clearly contradicts with the Qur'anic teaching:
"There is no compusion in religion" (2:256),
"Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion." (109:6),
"If it had been the Lord's will, they would have believed – All who are on earth! Will you then compel mankind, against their will, to believe?" (10:99).
"God forbids you not, with regard to those who do not fight you for your faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loves those who are just. (60:8)

We can also find in many hadiths that the Prophet (SAW) and the Muslims lived side by side with their non-Muslims community in Madinah. The first constitution on the face of the earth was written by the Prophet (SAW) to unite and protect people from different faiths in Madinah. Even at the time of the Prophet's death his shield was in the hands of this Jew neighbor of his a citizen of Madinah.  If non-Muslims were supposed to be killed because of their faith according to Islamic belief, why on earth this Jew still lived in Madinah even after the Prophet died?

Islamic history testifies to the fact that Muslims are more tolerant to their non-Muslim neighbors compared to the Christians. Just look what happened during Crusades and Inquisitions where thousands -perhaps millions- of Muslims and Jews were killed because of their faith. During Inquisition, Jews were fleeing from Spain to Islamic caliphate where they were welcome and protected by the Muslims from the massacre.

I hope this helps.

Subject: Allah or the Lord Jesus (A debate and much food for thought)

Malaysia

In Malaysia this should reach the "Catholic Herald" if not yet, since the controversy and the church being taken to court vs Malaysian government, as I understood it a few months back, was whether "God" our Father" and  "Allah" are one entity or two entirely different persons.

I have understood "FAITH" as our intimate relationship with God, a God of Love; Jesus who encompassed the Ten Commandments into a single commandment "Love God and Love your Neighbour." So I guess maybe some (not all) Muslim brethren of ours are correctly defending their shallow faith when they prohibit us from using the term "Allah" when we refer to Our God who is loving, merciful and expecting us to be like Him (Luke 6:36); whereas the concept of deviant Muslims is that the prophet requires his follower to kill and terrorize infidels who may be his neighbours to achieve salvation and eternity.

The world needs change. More wars are fought in the name of religion than any other cause (ref:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/ethics/war/religious/holywar.shtml) I firmly believe we need to unite as Christians and pray for world peace, an end to war and killing and to await His second coming with great peace in our hearts.

Australia

Allah or the Lord Jesus Christ ?The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion in  Australia

Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Anglican and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.

When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: 'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy War] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'

There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers! '

I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct ?'

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of  'a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'

        He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'

I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope Benedict  commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or the Archbishop of Canterbury ordering all Anglicans to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'

        The Imam was speechless!

I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your 'friend' when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me ?'

You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification' training seminar were not happy with this way of dealing with the Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in Australia to elect a government of their choice, complete with Sharia Law. I think everyone in Australia should be required to read this, but with the Liberal justice system, liberal media and the politically correctness madness,  there is no way this will be widely publicized.
